Now we are stepping into the Year of the Fire Horse, an energy that, according to Chinese astrology, stands for movement, visibility, courage and momentum.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, it is about the fire within us, our agni.
Agni is our digestive fire, but also our ability to digest life: food, impressions, stress, emotions, ambitions.
When the fire is balanced:
- will we get clarification
- direction
- Focus
- drive
When it is too strong:
- will it become inflamed
- irritation
- impatience
- burnout
Ayurveda says:
We aren't going to put out the fire, we're going to learn to tend to it.
So what is important in a year with a lot of fire?
Sleep. Nutrition. Self-oiled massage (abhyanga). Nervous system soothing.
Scrape your tongue. Drink warm water. Dry brushing (garshana). Fire flows best through clean channels.
Time in nature. Earlier evenings. Cooling teas. Discipline doesn't have to be self-punishment.
Directed movement
A clear focus. One priority at a time.
Balance first, speed later.
This year isn’t about running the fastest. It’s about staying active in a sustainable way.
What do you want to nurture daily this year? Your fire? Your calm? Your direction?
