Did you know that Ayurveda - this ancient and healing science of life, was once banned and ridiculed as barbaric?
Under British colonial rule in India, Ayurveda was banned because it did not fit in with the Western image of ”science”. Healing with oils, herbs and presence was considered primitive. Ayurvedic doctors risked imprisonment. The temples of health were turned into silenced homes. So the women took the knowledge into the kitchen. There, kitchen medicine was born - the turmeric, the cumin, the coriander, the golden milk, the broth of the soul.
Ayurveda survived. Not thanks to the system, but thanks to the resilience of the feminine. In maternal wisdom, in the rhythm of the earth, in the hearth's flame.
Today we are seeing a return. We remember that the body is not just flesh - it is one with the mind, one with the soul.
- Your symptoms are messages. Your tiredness is wisdom. Your heart carries the map.
- Ayurveda is not a trend. It is a revolution of reconnection.
- It is not a diet. It is a reminder of who you really are.
- You are not broken. You are out of balance. And we can heal that - by remembering.
It is like my dear friend and Ayurveda master Stephen Griffith tend to say:
”It is not what you eat that is decisive, but what you can digest both physically, mentally and spiritually.”
And there I began my own purge, from the inside out.
