During intake and discharge, the energy should go downwards, not to the mobile (eyes).

In Ayurveda, it's said that energy and blood circulation go where your attention goes.

This means that when you eat, your body wants all the focus to be in your stomach, not on your phone, not on the news, not on someone else's drama.
When you sit and scroll while eating, your body thinks you're going to think, analyse and react, and then more circulation goes to your eyes and brain instead of to your digestion.

Result?
Slightly weaker agni (digestive fire), more gas, more fatigue, and sometimes that feeling of food just sitting like a stone.

Ayurveda therefore says:
👉 Look at the food
👉 Taste it
👉 Pull slowly
👉 Let the body understand that it's time to digest, not perform.

And yes... the same applies when you need to poop. 😄🟤

If you're sitting on the toilet scrolling, replying to emails, or reading the news, your body thinks the energy is needed in your head.
But cleansing requires circulation to go downwards, to the intestines and pelvis. When attention goes to the eyes, energy goes upwards. When attention goes to the body, energy goes downwards.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, using a mobile phone on the toilet can contribute to:
  • Constipation
  • Incomplete emptying
  • Gas and bloating
  • haemorrhoids (yes, actually)
So today's wisdom from the old vaidyas:
Eat when you eat. Poop when you poop. And let your phone rest so your stomach can do its job.
It's not just about health. It's about respect for the body's intelligence.

Where healing begins,

and harmony returns.
