Detox

You may have tried some detox cures. Such as colon cleansing teas, gone on some juice detoxes or taken rejuvenating herbs.
But I'm sorry. None of that compares to Panchakarma.

Panchakarma is not a trendy detox, nor is it a juice fast in disguise; rather, it is an ancient ritual for cleansing, renewal and even the recovery of the soul.

It is a traditional Ayurvedic purification and rejuvenation therapy that has been practised for literally thousands of years. A sacred retreat, where bespoke therapy and treatments, entirely tailored to the Rogi's (patient's) needs, are offered over a period of 7–28 days (usually).

The 5 detox methods in Panchakarma are:

  • Vamana (emetic therapy): This sounds unpleasant, and honestly - it is. But afterwards you will feel and be brand new as it clears out heaviness, sluggishness, emotional attachments, mucus and stagnation in the chest and heart area.
Very rarely, but it is used sometimes. .
  • Virechana (purging therapy): Cools down the “fire”, calms anger, releases old heat and emotional exhaustion from the stomach.
  • Nasyam (nasal oil therapy): Cleanses the subtle nadi channels (energy channels) in the head and sinuses, calms the mind and awakens intuition.
  • Vashti (medical enemas): This goes WAY beyond ordinary “coffee enemas”. Vasthi/Basti goes straight to the root - the colon, where Vata is either cleansed or nourished. It stabilises, grounds, lubricates and restores.
  • Bloodletting (blood letting/blood purification): Releases dammed-up pressure from excess heat (Pitta) and inflammation, and purifies at the deepest level - the river of life: your blood.
Also very rarely, but seen people who have got rid of varicose veins via the method.

Panchakarma is the purification of the soul, a complete system for returning to the body's natural state of health, balance and vitality.

Where healing begins,

and harmony returns.
