Why do I have such a penchant for Panchakarma in Bali?

I usually think about Belgian chocolate.
Cocoa may come from Ecuador or Mexico, yet it is Belgium that has become famous for what is done with the raw material.

That's how I feel about Panchakarma in Bali.
The roots and knowledge come from India. And that is important to me. The Ayurvedic practitioners I recommend are trained in India and must be knowledgeable specifically in Panchakarma.

Those of you who have followed me for a long time or listened to my podcasts know that I go on about this 😉 A centre must work with the entire Panchakarma process: the preparation, the main treatments and the post-treatment recovery. This applies just as much in India as it does in Bali.

I help people with Panchakarma both in India and in Bali, and both have their strengths.
But my personal penchant for Bali is about what happens when India's Ayurvedic knowledge meets Bali's nature, energy and soul.

Bali has long been regarded as a place with a very special spiritual energy. In certain modern spiritual traditions, the island is even described as one of the Earth's energy centres or ”chakras”. Regardless of what one believes about that, it is hard not to feel that there is something special about this place.

And the people.
It is hard to describe the Balinese touch before you have experienced it. The authenticity, the big smiles, the presence and that genuine gratitude for life that almost feels as though it is spreading through every single cell. And in the middle of a fairly demanding Panchakarma process, it means a lot to feel nurtured, not just treated.

Nature does something too. The rice fields, the greenery, the warmth, the sounds, the scents. Being able to just go out after the treatments and be right in the middle of all that.

The body works intensively at the same time as the surroundings say:
You are safe. You are allowed to rest. You do not need to perform.

For me, it is the combination that makes Bali so special:
🧘🏼 India's knowledge and tradition
🧘🏼 Panchakarma under authentic Ayurvedic physicians
🧘🏼 Bali's nature and energies
🧘🏼 The Balinese care and touch

The roots of Ayurveda are Indian. But something quite special happens when they meet the soul of Bali. 🤍 a bit like two good things in one package ❤️

Where healing begins,

and harmony returns.
