In Ayurveda, we talk a lot about how the mind is affected by our doshas, especially Vata, which easily creates worry, fear, restlessness, and constant “thinking”.
When Vata is out of balance, we often start to identify with our thoughts:
But Ayurveda reminds us of something important:
You are not your thoughts. You are the one observing them.
So… what happens if you, just for a moment, put your worries aside?
- If you let go of future worries
- If you pause all the “what if...”
- If you don't carry what weighs you down
And who are you then?
Perhaps
- Calmer
- More founded
- More present in the body
- Closer to your true nature (Prakriti)
In Ayurveda, healing is not just about “removing symptoms” but about returning to one's natural state, where the body and mind can rest from overstimulation and stress.
A little practice for today:
- Sit down for a few minutes.
- Place one hand on your heart, and the other on your stomach.
- You walk slowly.
Ask the question within yourself:
“Who am I, without my worries?”
Please write down what comes. Without judgement. Just observe.
