Did you know that Ayurveda does not stand alone but is part of a larger universe of sacred knowledge from the ancient Vedic scriptures?
Veda means “knowledge”, and these texts form the foundation for many of the traditions that still influence body, mind and soul today. Ayurveda is the “science of life”, but there are more paths within this Vedic map.
Ayurveda is therefore not just an isolated health doctrine; it is a living branch on an ancient tree of knowledge, which helps us live in harmony with nature, the cosmos, and our inner selves.
New branch in modern times: Vedic Art
In recent years, a modern branch has emerged: Vedic Art. This artistic approach was introduced by the Swedish artist Curt Källman (1938–2010), in collaboration with the Indian meditation teacher Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Källman learned the seventeen principles of art and life from Maharishi during the 1970s, and then formalised the method in 1988 in Sweden.
Vedic Art is based on the idea that all creative power and wisdom already exist within us, and painted expression is a way to recall and shape this inner essence. The courses focus on artistic freedom and personal development without requiring prior experience.
