They are usually filled with fresh, bright flowers. Each flower is chosen for its colour, and each colour has a specific meaning. Sometimes money, a little food or a burning incense stick is also placed on top of the offering.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">In almost every Hindu home and temple, new offerings are put out every day. These canang sari are truly everywhere on pavements, streets, steps, low walls and temples no matter where you go! There is such devotion and beauty on this island, it is deeply inspiring.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>Why so many offerings?<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Besides being beautiful and filling the air with a sweet scent, the ancient ritual surrounding canang sari carries a deeper purpose and meaning.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The offerings are a sacred form of gratitude for what is, and a wish for peace and abundance in the world. They represent the Balinese people's devotion to their (Hindu) gods, but at their deepest level these offerings are so much more.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The time and care put into creating canang sari honour a daily ritual of self-sacrifice, gratitude and deep attention to detail.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The creation of these simple offerings reflects generosity, faith and devotion\u2014values that live in the heart and soul of the Balinese people.
